It was a good long run with my mom and Zach.  We ran into Sarah Pachev on the River Trail.  This has been a good build up the last month and I actually feel good after the run.  Now I just need to finish my paper before the Symposium at BYU this Thursday.

I ran to Kiwanis and ran for most of the time there.  On the way back I did a few strides to loosen up.  I'm feeling pretty good, but while I was running in the five fingers, my left arch felt a little tight.

I had a good run to a park in Logan (visiting my in-laws), ran there for a couple of miles, then ran back.  The last mile I did alternating 30 second intervals of hard and easy.  Sort of stride pace.  Felt quite good to go faster.  We'll be at Yellowstone/Jackson hole for a bit, so it should be some pretty scenery to run in the next few days (as well as altitude).

5 miles in West Yellowstone on some trails along the outskirts of the town.  Really nice run.  I forgot my shoes so I bought some Asics 1140s in Pocatello and they feel pretty good.

7 miles up at Snowbird, some on trails and some on the road.  I felt pretty good considering the two runs (and a lot of walking) yesterday and not a great night's sleep.  But I think I'm having a good week so far.  It'll be nice to have had some good training at altitude before we head back home to California at the end of this week.

I went 10 miles, 7 of them with Zach, and all of them up at Snowbird.  It was a really nice week and a pretty good week of training.  Now we're heading back to California for the last couple months before St. George.

Back in Riverside and I had a really good run this morning.  Getting over 6 is a good start to the week.  I went close to 5 around and through campus and then 1.5 in the fivefingers around family housing.  I also did 2 sets of core exercises and 3 x 20 pushups.

After a 1.5 mile warmup, I did 3 x 1 mile repeats in 6:22, 6:26, 6:34.  After each mile, I did about 2/3 mile recovery and then finished with another mile or so in the fivefingers to cool down.  This was a good first speed workout.  I have quite a bit of speed to regain (and then improve on), but it takes a few sessions and continued decent mileage to get that going again.  Today was a good start.

Nice recovery run today.  Around campus, on some fields, threw in some hills, and then about 1.5 in the Fivefingers.  I did some strides at the end just to put a little bit of faster work in.  I also had a good night's sleep and got out a little earlier than I have the last little while, which is a good trend with my teaching through August and then into the fall.
