I went 18 up in Logan, with the first 10 around 8 minute pace and then the last 8 dipping down to 7 and sometimes a little faster.  So it was a really good long run to end the week.  Now to rest and get ready for next week.

I did a speed workout with my mom today.  We did a warmup and then I did 1 mile in 6:40, 2 miles in 13:45, and then 800s in 2:59 and 2:56.  It was a decent effort but not too bad, so this was nice.  Now the goal is to maintain a buildup while working in some sort of speedwork.

I went 20 miles total.  16 was with my mom and then the last 4 were a bit faster--6:45, 6:47, 6:53 and 7:10.  The first two of the 4 were more downhill than the last couple.  I felt good about the pace for the finish of the run at this stage.

Five miles pretty easy, but I did go in the afternoon, so it was pretty warm.  I felt pretty good considering I did a 20 miler yesterday.  My goal now is to build a little bit more over the next couple weeks and try to avoid any injuries, which I've been fortunate to have avoided this year so far.

I helped my mom with her speed workout today.  We did 6 x 1200 with some rest in between.  In total, we did about 8 miles and I did the last 1200 at 6:20 pace, which didn't feel that bad.

It was actually 20.3, but 20 is close enough.  I ran all but the last 4.7 with my mom at a steady, but not particularly fast pace.  But I sped up the last 4.7 and averaged 7:10 or so for that stretch.  I felt surprisingly good the rest of the day and then Sunday also, which was nice.

10 miles up on the Bonneville shoreline trail.  I felt really good for the Monday after a 20-miler, so that's encouraging.  Hopefully I can maintain solid miles over the next couple weeks before I start to taper down.  This year I've been pretty happy with my consistency and would like to keep it up for the rest of the year and then carry it over to next year so I can have a much stronger base in the coming years.
