Morning: 4 miles in 31:50, much of it was on grass, which felt great and was a lot of fun.  I need to do that more often.

Evening: 3 miles, 2 miles on grass.  I need to be more consistent with my training, if only to maintain a higher level of fitness.  I do think that I'll shoot for a fast marathon in 2010.  I'm not yet sure about time, but I think under 2:45.  If I can get some consistent miles, I think that's well within reach.  I've run a 3:08 after 3 months training, so I think with over a year of good mileage, I could drop that time quite a bit.

I went with a run with Zach around Riverside before we spent the rest of the day moving in. It was pretty warm in Riverside (something I'm okay with), but I'll probably do more training in the early hours.  The Cumuluses have felt better lately, which is nice.

Back in Provo (not enough sleep last night).  We went park hopping today for a total of 6 miles.  I'm feeling good and would like to get more consistent miles in the future.

I went on a similar run as yesterday--going from park to park and then ran about 1.5 miles at Kiwanis (a little over a mile barefoot).  I now remember how I was able to run 60-70 mile weeks--it's all about running on grass and just having a good time.  Here's to higher miles from here on out!

No running today since our new baby, Nathan, was born at 3:43 in the morning.  He came a few weeks early, so we weren't quite ready, but he's been healthy and we're happy to have him with us.  This has been my best week of training for quite a while, which owes as much to my recent lack of quality training as it does to the quality of this week.  But we're moving up!

I went 10 miles up around Provo Canyon, some going up, and some going down.  It was fun to see the winner of the Half-marathon (I think Jeff, who runs with Sasha), and to run with the race for some of it.  I'm getting to be in better shape (of course that's relative) with some consistency with miles over the last while.  Now I just want to keep building and then keep a base of at least 40 from here on out.  I think that would help me to avoid injuries and to run faster times.  It's been a long time since I have put in a consistent stretch of higher miles, and I'd like to see what would happen if I could put in a few years of consistent training, even if it's not always the highest mileage.  I think with a few years of 40-60 miles per week I could really run some good times.  With that, I'm planning on consistently running on grass and throwing in more speed and hills in order to get a faster top speed.  I've always had good endurance and decent speed, but if I could get more comfortable running a faster pace (in the 4-5 minute per mile range), I think that would allow me to run some solid times.

I went with Zach to Bicentennial Park (about 2 miles) and then we ran around the park.  For about 8 minutes, I did a fast 30 seconds followed by 30 easy.  I'm trying to play around with some speed to get a little bit faster.  This was a great start to the week.

I went on a 2.5 mile warmup to the cemetery.  Then I did 8 400s, alternating between fast and slow.  My times for the faster ones were 86, 83, 82, 78.  I know this isn't blazing fast, but it's a start for me to get some speed again (and, hopefully, to improve on what speed I had previously).

This was a very easy recovery run, mostly on grass.

This was a pretty easy 3 mile run in the middle of the day.  A mile to and from the park and about a mile barefoot at the park.  I don't want to get too many miles too soon, so I've peeled back the last couple days.  But I'm feeling good right now, so that's nice.

This was an easy-ish run (though it was a little hot and I was pushing Joshua in the stroller).  My sister let me use their stroller since ours is already in California.  This was really nice of her, and it also helped me decide that I actually quite like our running stroller.  My legs are feeling good and I'm really happy with this week of running.  This puts me in a good position to start getting a solid base of at least 40 miles per week.

I went on a 12 mile run up Provo canyon.  My dad was riding a bike, and I went with him for the last 5 miles (close to a 7 minute per mile pace, maybe a little bit faster).  Total time was 1:45, with the last 6 in 42:00.  This was a good finish to a good week for me.  Now time to rest and get ready for another week.  I'll probably do some massage on my calves and quads, and maybe do some ice.  I'm not really all that sore, so this would be more preventative than anything.

I went 7 miles up and around the temple and then back.  I was pushing Joshua in the stroller, which made it a little tougher than it would have been otherwise.  This is a good start to the week.

I ran to the cemetery and then did 5 400s with an easy 400 between each faster one.  My times for the 400s were 83, 80, 80, 76, 78.  This is faster than last week and I'm feeling quite good.  Still a long way to go as far as speed goes, but this is a good start.
